    Each page is rendered at the resolution you choose and saved as a separate image. Multi-page documents download as a ZIP. Higher DPI means sharper output and much larger files — 300 DPI is worth it for printing, wasteful for screen use.

    PNG or JPG for a document page?

    For most PDFs, PNG is the better choice. Documents are full of sharp black text on white, and that is exactly the content JPG compression handles worst — it produces faint grey halos around letters, which is why a JPG of a text page often looks slightly dirty at full zoom.

    PNG is lossless, so edges stay crisp and white stays white. The file will be larger, sometimes several times larger, and that is the trade you make for clean text.

    When JPG wins

    Pages that are mostly photographs are the exception. There PNG compresses poorly and produces a very large file for no visible gain, and JPG at Balanced quality will look identical at a fraction of the size.

    A rough rule: if the page is mainly text, tables or diagrams, use PNG. If it is a full-page photo, use JPG.

    Are my files uploaded to a server?

    No. The conversion runs inside your browser using your device's own processor. Your files are never transmitted anywhere, which is why the tool works even if you disconnect from the internet after the page loads.

    Why is PNG better for text?

    JPG compression creates faint artefacts around high-contrast edges, and text is nothing but high-contrast edges. PNG stores it losslessly, so letters stay sharp.

    Why are the files so large?

    PNG keeps every pixel exactly. That is the point, but it means a 300 DPI page can run to several megabytes. Drop to 150 DPI, or use JPG for photographic pages.

    Is there a file limit or a paywall?

    There is no account, no watermark, and no upload cap. Because your device does the work, the only practical limit is your available memory. The site is funded by ads, not subscriptions.
